What you'll do

This trip is a 4-day, 3-night hiking adventure in the stunning valley of Matterhorn. We are going to start in Randa, a small alpine village close to Zermatt and spend a night in Europa Hut. After a hearty breakfast we will set sails to Täsch. Along the way, we will cross the longest suspension bridge in the Alps. Thrills guaranteed! On day three, we will leave Täsch and head to Zermatt, where we start ascent with Five Lakes Trail. We will spend the last night in Ze Seewjinu mountain lodge in the heart of Matterhorn massif. On the last day, we will continue the Five Lake Trail back to Zermatt, where you will be able to catch the train to the airport or continue your trip to another spot in Switzerland.

During this guided hiking experience in the Swiss Alps, you can enjoy peace of mind as our English-speaking guides will take care of everything from transport to accommodations, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Swiss Alps.

Itinerary

We will meet your guides and the rest of the group in Randa at 2:30 p.m. From there, you’ll hike to Europahütte (Europa Hut) just above Randa, located at 2220 m altitude. It’s a fairly short hike, so you’ll have the rest of the afternoon and evening free to relax, chat, and get to know the rest of the group. Admire the panoramic views from the hut and enjoy the peace and quietness of the mountain valley.

Dinner

After breakfast at the hut, you will pack your bags and start today’s hike. The highlight of the trail is definitely the Charles Kuonen suspension bridge. At 494m long, it’s the longest hanging suspension bridge in the Alps! You’ll then continue to hike along the Europaweg balcony trail up to the Täschalp mountain hut, surrounded by glaciers and mountain peaks.

Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast at the hut, you will continue along the trail toward Zermatt, admiring uninterrupted views of the iconic mountain. In Zermatt you’ll step on the famous Five Lakes Trail and, in the late afternoon, arrive at the Ze Seewinjinu mountain hut with amazing views of the Matterhorn.

Breakfast, Dinner

On the final day, you will complete the Five Lakes Trail before descending to Zermatt. You will be back in Zermatt in time to catch the train back to the airport or continue your trip to another spot in Switzerland.
